Following further enquires about the road closure notices on Broughton Road, we have had the following response from OCC Highways
“In the interests of public safety it will be necessary for Oxfordshire County Council to close a short section of Broughton Road to facilitate installation of a new pedestrian crossing facility and associated repairs/works.
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) is being made to implement the temporary closure and will operate from 23 April 2021 up to and including 07 May 2021. This will operate between 07:00 and 19:00.
Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for those frontages within the closure area, subject to the progress of the works and liaison with the works supervisor. “
A map of the closure and suggested diversion route has been attached below, and whilst there will be no disruption to access to the school, it looks like access will need to be from the direction of the town centre rather than from Wood Green Avenue or Queensway. It is unclear just how long the closure will last for within the period of 23rd April to 7th May, but hopefully it will not be too long and the installation of a pedestrian crossing will certainly benefit the school.
